Clubbell Strength Training Equipment

Here is Strength to slay the Dragons

I have been using heavy clubs now for about 3 years.  It was a reader of Bigsteel who first introduced me to their use with plastic baseball bats filled with sand in the parking lot one day.  He lamented at the time how there were no heavy Indian clubs available.  I took up the use of Indian clubs myself and found them to be awesome, but the plastic bat to be somewhat lacking.  Later, my friend quoted a price of over $200 for heavy wood clubs that were not even as heavy as the clubbell.

The clubbell is simply the best value for a heavy club.  Wooden clubs should be delegated to the display case as nice antiques or curiosities and plastic bats filled with sand only a tool to see how you like swinging clubs.  You can also add weight to a loading pin to see how you like heavy club training, but this is still not a real club and doesn't have the same feel or balance, although I personally have got a lot of mileage from my loading pin and heavy weight.  Once you get some experience the Clubbell is the implement needed for club training.

It was a great honor for me to be contacted by the makers of clubbells to be an associate for the sale of clubbells and related products.  Frankly, I was happy just to pass on the links to their site as I have always done, but if you have enjoyed Bigsteel, have found the information here useful and are considering buying a clubbell or related product, please click on any of the clubbell banners on this page when you decide to make a purchase.  There is no additional cost to you if you purchase Clubbells starting on the banners here at Bigsteel.  If you decide you need more time to think about your purchase, just return to Bigsteel and start from the Clubbell Banner below or Click this Link.  Thanks.

Clubbell Books

I'd also like to comment on the other fine products available on the clubbell training page.  Many years ago, even before this site was created I happened upon an Indian club training booklet in a Spalding exercise series written in the 1800's. The small booklet with very few pages was merely a curiosity too me, but I plunked down $50 because of its rarity.  The information in the book pales to that of Scott Sonnon's Clubbell book.  I've seen sections of other Indian club books and quite simply, the clubbell book is the best ever written on the subject.  Not only does it illustrate more exercises in a precise way, but it outlines the history of club training with some strongman training to boot (gosh, it's even got a picture of me, but don't buy it for that!).

The clubbell training video makes it even easier to learn club swinging movements.  Believe me, the complexity of the drawings in the Spalding book were over the top, but the book and video combination makes it easy to learn even more complex combination movements of club swinging.

Scott Sonnon has even more books now available on his clubbell training page.  While I do not own these products yet, they are very intriguing, especially Warrior Wellness and his latest Body Flow.
