Photography It might be hard to tell from the pictures of me bending bars and such on the big steel pages, but I am a pretty good photographer. I'll be posting some of my favorite digital pictures soon on this web site.

Guitar, Banjo and Music

I've played guitar and banjo now for over 25 years.  I've got quite a collection, mostly inexpensive stuff, but still fun to own and play.   Musicians will definitely enjoy this store, Guitar Trader.com, click here or select your specific interest below- Guitars & Equipment

Here are the top selling guitars and amplifiers at Guitar Trader.com (Fender, Ibanez, Ovation, Gibson and Epiphone).  You can also visit the Zorpa Guitar Store for guitars from Guitar Trader and guitar books from Amazon.  One comment, one of the first nice guitars I ever owned was an Ovation, a really good guitar for the money.  They are usually easier to play, and amplify well, if not better than any other brand.  For the money, they usually sound as good as guitars costing much more.  Make sure any acoustic guitar you buy has a solid spruce top (or at least a solid top).  I strongly suggest solid back and sides as well (not laminated), and if this is not in ad copy you should assume that they are laminated.  I would rather have a guitar with solid mahogany back and sides as opposed to a laminated rosewood back and sides, even though rosewood is usually more desirable than mahogany.  Thus, I would always tip my hat to the solid wood construction over the laminated.  Note, I base this on my experience with older cheap guitars, which I have many.  The laminate ones always end up sounding bad, whereas the solid ones get better and better, just like more expensive models. 

Cameras

Every single picture on Bigsteel was taken with digital cameras.  I've had three different generations of cameras, all Olympus, each one getting better than the last.  My current camera, as far as I'm concerned, makes a better print than 35mm.  This new site gives tips for beginners to intermediates when buying and using a digital camera:  Computer-Cameras.com.
